dry sanding
Grit without liquid
Dry sanding is sanding without water or other lubricants, as opposed to wet sanding.
It removes material faster and works well for rough shaping or stripping paint, but produces more dust and can leave deeper scratches.
Wear a mask when dry sanding—the dust gets everywhere.
