dropdowns
Expandable choice menus
Dropdowns are user interface elements that expand to reveal a list of options when clicked, then collapse after a selection is made.
The term comes from the menu appearing to drop down from its header.
Common in web forms, navigation menus, and software applications: Select your country from the dropdown.
Also written as two words or hyphenated.
