drop kicking
Release-and-boot technique
Drop kicking is the act of kicking something by dropping it and striking it just as it bounces off the ground.
The technique appears in rugby and American football, though rarely in the latter anymore.
Figuratively, to drop-kick something is to reject or dismiss it forcefully: I wanted to drop-kick that proposal into the sun.
