downed power line
Collapsed electrical wire
A downed power line is an electrical cable that has fallen from its supporting poles or towers, typically due to storms, accidents, or equipment failure.
Downed power lines are extremely dangerous—they may remain energized and can electrocute anyone who touches them or even approaches too closely: Stay away from downed power lines until the utility company confirms they're safe.
