double bill

Two films, one price

A double bill is a presentation of two movies, plays, or performances shown together for a single admission price.

The term comes from theatrical billing—the poster or announcement listing what's playing.

Double bills were especially common in mid-20th-century cinema, pairing a main feature with a B-movie.

The practice continues in repertory theaters and concert venues: The jazz club advertised a double bill featuring two legendary saxophonists.
