Doners is the plural of doner, short for doner kebab—seasoned meat (usually lamb, chicken, or beef) stacked in a cone shape and roasted on a vertical spit.
Slices are shaved off as the outer layer cooks, then served in flatbread or pita with vegetables and sauce.
The dish originated in Turkey and spread throughout Europe and beyond, becoming especially popular late-night street food in Britain and Germany.
