dodos

Mauritius's lost fowl

Dodos are flightless birds that became extinct in the late 17th century, native to Mauritius.

Unable to fly and unafraid of humans, they were easily hunted to extinction—making the dodo a symbol of obsolescence and vulnerability.

To call someone a dodo is to call them stupid or hopelessly out of touch: Those old dodos in management don't understand the internet.
