digital fatigue
Screen-induced mental drain
Digital fatigue is the exhaustion that comes from prolonged exposure to screens and online activity—video calls, social media, email, notifications.
The term gained currency during the COVID-19 pandemic when remote work and virtual socializing became ubiquitous: After eight hours of Zoom meetings, the digital fatigue is real.
It encompasses both physical strain (eye fatigue, headaches) and mental depletion from constant connectivity.
