Fake collar inserts
Dickeys is the plural of dickey, a detachable shirt front or collar insert worn to give the appearance of a full shirt beneath a jacket or sweater: She wore a turtleneck dickey under her blazer.
The term also refers to a small bird (the dickeybird), a rear seat in a carriage, or a donkey in British dialect.
The spelling dicky is equally common.
