debarkers
Log-peeling mill machines
Debarkers are machines or tools that remove bark from logs, preparing timber for processing into lumber or paper pulp.
In sawmills, logs pass through debarkers before cutting.
The term also refers to workers who operate such equipment or perform the task manually.
Separately, a debarker is a controversial surgical procedure that reduces a dog's ability to bark by altering the vocal cords.
