death wish
Longing for oblivion
A death wish is a conscious or unconscious desire for one's own death or destruction.
In psychoanalytic theory, it refers to self-destructive impulses.
More loosely, death wish describes recklessly dangerous behavior: Riding a motorcycle without a helmet? Do you have a death wish?
The phrase often appears as hyperbole for any risky choice.
