death anxiety
Fear of dying
Death anxiety is fear or dread about one's own mortality or the process of dying.
The term appears in psychology and existential philosophy to describe the unease that arises from awareness that death is inevitable: His midlife crisis was really death anxiety in disguise.
Distinguished from grief, which concerns others' deaths, death anxiety focuses on the self.
