Terror of death
The fear of dying is anxiety about one's own death or the process of dying.
While some degree of this fear is nearly universal, intense or persistent dread may be called thanatophobia.
The fear often centers less on death itself than on the unknown, loss of control, or anticipated suffering: His fear of dying kept him awake at night.
