cupids

Valentine card figures

Cupids are representations of the Roman god of love, typically depicted as chubby winged infants with bows and arrows.

They appear on greeting cards, especially valentines, and in Renaissance art.

A cupid can also describe a person who plays matchmaker: She's been playing cupid for her single friends. (Capitalized Cupid is the god himself.)
