credit lock
Identity theft prevention
A credit lock is a service that restricts access to your credit report, preventing lenders from checking it and thus blocking new accounts from being opened in your name.
Unlike a credit freeze, which is federally regulated and free, a credit lock is typically offered by credit bureaus as a paid subscription with faster on/off toggling: I put a credit lock on my file after the data breach.
