cream gravy
White pan sauce
Cream gravy is a thick white sauce made from pan drippings, flour, and milk, served over biscuits, chicken-fried steak, or other Southern and comfort foods.
The gravy gets its name from its pale color and creamy texture rather than containing actual cream: Smother those biscuits in cream gravy.
Also called white gravy or sawmill gravy.
