correlates

Shows mutual connection

Correlates are things that correspond to or vary alongside each other.

In research, correlates are factors that show a statistical relationship: Poverty is one of the strongest correlates of poor health outcomes.

The verb correlate means to establish such a connection or to show correspondence: Test scores correlate with family income.

Two things that correlate move together—when one changes, the other tends to change as well, though correlation doesn't prove one causes the other.
