coriander seed
Citrusy seasoning bead
Coriander seeds are the dried fruits of the coriander plant, used whole or ground as a spice.
They have a warm, citrusy, slightly sweet flavor—quite different from the fresh leaves (cilantro), which taste sharp and herbaceous.
Common in Indian, Middle Eastern, and Latin American cooking: Toast the coriander seeds before grinding them.
