commentary tracks
Behind-the-scenes narration
Commentary tracks are audio recordings that play alongside a film or video, featuring directors, actors, or critics discussing the production.
Originally a feature on DVDs and Blu-rays, they let viewers watch while listening to behind-the-scenes insights: The director's commentary track reveals they almost cut that scene.
Now also common on streaming platforms and podcasts.
