Joint flight arrangement
Codesharing is an airline arrangement where two or more carriers sell seats on the same flight under their own flight numbers.
One airline operates the plane while partners market it as their own, allowing airlines to offer more destinations without flying there themselves: I booked through Delta but the flight was codeshared with Air France.
The practice expands network reach and frequent-flyer options for passengers.
