cockpit view
From the controls
Cockpit view is a camera perspective in video games and simulations that places you inside a vehicle's cockpit, seeing what the driver or pilot would see.
Racing games and flight simulators offer cockpit view as an alternative to external or chase cameras: I always play in cockpit view for the immersion.
The perspective typically includes dashboard instruments and interior details.
