coach car
Passenger rail section
A coach car is a standard passenger railroad car with rows of seats, as opposed to sleeping cars, dining cars, or premium classes.
The term distinguishes basic seating accommodation from more expensive options: We couldn't afford a sleeper, so we rode in the coach car.
Also called simply coach.
