Pullman car
Upscale train coach
A Pullman car is a railroad sleeping car, named for George Pullman, who developed luxury passenger cars in the mid-nineteenth century.
The name became synonymous with comfortable overnight train travel: We booked a Pullman car for the cross-country trip.
By extension, Pullman sometimes describes any spacious or well-appointed railway carriage.
