climbing harness
Waist and leg
A climbing harness is a system of webbing straps worn around the waist and thighs that allows a climber to be safely attached to a rope.
The harness distributes the force of a fall across the body rather than concentrating it at one point.
Most harnesses have gear loops for carrying equipment and a belay loop for rope attachment: She double-checked her climbing harness before starting the ascent.
