Baked cherry dessert
Clafouti is a French baked dessert—fruit, traditionally cherries, covered in a thick, eggy batter and baked until puffed and golden.
The texture falls somewhere between custard and pancake.
Versions made with fruits other than cherries are sometimes called flaugnarde.
Also spelled clafoutis: a cherry clafouti fresh from the oven.
