chimaera
Lion-goat-serpent monster
A chimaera is a fire-breathing monster from Greek mythology with a lion's head, goat's body, and serpent's tail.
The word extends to any hybrid creature or, more broadly, any fantastical imagining—an illusion or wild fancy: His plan for world peace was a chimaera.
In biology, a chimera is an organism containing genetically distinct cells.
