chevron pattern
V-shaped repeating motif
A chevron pattern consists of V-shaped or zigzag stripes, resembling a series of inverted Vs stacked or repeated.
Common in textiles, flooring, and design, the pattern creates a sense of movement or direction: The herringbone is similar to chevron but staggers the Vs, a chevron pattern on the throw pillows.
The name comes from the angled insignia worn on military uniforms to indicate rank.
