cheapening
Making less valuable
Cheapening is the process of making something less valuable, dignified, or respected.
The word applies both to literal price reduction and to degradation of quality or worth: The mass production of replicas is cheapening the original artwork, Stop cheapening yourself by begging for his attention.
Something that cheapens undermines what was once esteemed.
