caucus leader
Party bloc head
A caucus leader is the elected head of a political party's members within a legislative body.
In the U.S.
Congress, caucus leaders coordinate party strategy, count votes, and guide members toward unified positions: The caucus leader whipped votes for the spending bill.
The term is more common in American and Canadian politics than British.
