candidiasis
Oral thrush condition
Candidiasis is a fungal infection caused by *Candida* yeast, most commonly *Candida albicans*.
The infection typically affects warm, moist areas of the body—the mouth (oral thrush), genitals (yeast infection), or skin folds.
Mild cases are common and easily treated, but candidiasis can become severe in people with weakened immune systems.
