candidate forum
Political discussion event
A candidate forum is a public event where candidates for office present their positions and answer questions, typically organized by civic groups, media outlets, or community organizations.
Unlike formal debates, forums often allow candidates to speak without direct confrontation: The League of Women Voters hosted a candidate forum at the library.
The format usually includes opening statements, audience questions, and closing remarks.
