calker

Substance sealing joints

A calker is a person who caulks—sealing seams in boats, windows, or other structures to make them watertight.

The spelling calker preserves an older form; caulker is now more common.

Calker also refers to a pointed projection on a horseshoe that provides traction on slippery surfaces, preventing the horse from sliding.
