Baroque dance form
A bourrée is a lively French dance from the 17th century, or the music composed for it, typically in quick duple meter.
The dance became a standard movement in Baroque instrumental suites, appearing in works by Bach and Handel.
In ballet, bourrée refers to a sequence of small, rapid steps performed on pointe: She crossed the stage in bourrée.
