born-again Christian
Recommitted evangelical believer
A born-again Christian is someone who has undergone a spiritual conversion experience, accepting Jesus Christ as personal savior and committing to live according to evangelical Protestant beliefs.
The term comes from a biblical passage about being "born again" through faith.
Born-again Christians typically emphasize a personal relationship with God, biblical authority, and sharing their faith with others: She became a born-again Christian after a health scare.
