body-snatcher

Steals the deceased

A body-snatcher is someone who steals corpses, historically to sell them for medical dissection when legal cadaver supplies were scarce.

The term now extends figuratively to anyone who takes people away—a recruiter poaching employees, or in science fiction, an alien entity that replaces humans: Invasion of the Body Snatchers.
