blood brotherhood
Ritual bonded loyalty
Blood brotherhood is a bond between people who are not biologically related but have sworn loyalty to each other, traditionally by mingling their blood through small cuts.
The ritual creates a relationship considered as binding as kinship: They became blood brothers after the ceremony.
The term now applies broadly to any deep, oath-bound alliance between individuals or groups.
