blended whiskey
Combined grain distillate
Blended whiskey is whiskey made by combining straight whiskeys or mixing whiskey with neutral grain spirits.
The blend may draw from different distilleries, grain types, or aging periods to achieve a consistent flavor profile.
Most commercial whiskeys are blends: a bottle of blended Scotch.
Contrast with single malt or straight whiskey, which come from one distillery or one grain.
