blackbuck

Spiral-horned grazing animal

A blackbuck is a medium-sized antelope native to India and Pakistan, named for the dark brown to black coloring of adult males.

Females and young males are yellowish-brown.

Once abundant, blackbucks have declined dramatically due to hunting and habitat loss, though they remain culturally significant in South Asia and are protected there.
