dik-dik
Whistling African antelope
A dik-dik is a tiny antelope native to eastern and southern Africa, standing only about a foot tall at the shoulder.
The name imitates the alarm call the females make when startled.
Dik-diks mate for life and mark their territory with secretions from glands near their eyes.
