bethel
Mariners' worship space
A bethel is a place of worship, especially a chapel for sailors or a nonconformist church.
The word comes from Hebrew meaning "house of God." In some contexts, bethel refers to a hallowed or sacred place more generally: The old meetinghouse served as a bethel for the community. (Capitalized Bethel is a place name.)
