bed sores
Immobility skin wounds
Bed sores are skin ulcers that develop when prolonged pressure cuts off blood flow to tissue, typically in bedridden or wheelchair-bound patients.
They form at pressure points where bone meets skin—heels, hips, tailbone, shoulder blades.
Also called pressure sores or pressure ulcers.
The nursing home was cited for neglecting residents with bed sores.
