becks

Yorkshire water courses

Becks is the plural of beck, a small stream or brook, used chiefly in northern England: We crossed several becks on the moorland walk.

Beck also means a gesture of summoning, surviving mainly in the phrase at someone's beck and call—ready to respond instantly to their commands.
