ballhawk
Interception-prone defender
A ballhawk is a player skilled at getting possession of the ball—in baseball, an outfielder who tracks down difficult fly balls; in basketball or football, someone who intercepts passes or recovers loose balls with unusual frequency.
The term also describes fans who position themselves to catch home runs or foul balls at baseball games: The ballhawks gather in the bleachers during batting practice.
