autostarts
Launches without prompting
Autostarts refers to programs or processes that launch automatically when a computer boots up or a user logs in.
Managing autostarts—adding or removing items—affects system performance and startup speed: I disabled a few autostarts to make my laptop boot faster.
The term also applies to any automatic initiation: a car's autostart feature starts the engine remotely.
