autoexec

Automatic execution file

Autoexec is a file that runs automatically when a system or program starts, executing commands without user intervention.

The term comes from MS-DOS, where AUTOEXEC.BAT configured the computer at boot.

Modern usage extends to any script or configuration file that runs on startup: I added the command to my autoexec so I don't have to type it every time.
