auto-injector
Push-button medication dispenser
An auto-injector is a medical device designed to deliver a premeasured dose of medication, typically by spring-loaded needle into muscle tissue.
The most familiar is the EpiPen, which administers epinephrine during severe allergic reactions: She always carries an auto-injector for her bee allergy.
Auto-injectors allow patients or bystanders to give emergency injections without medical training.
