belt clip
Hip attachment point
A belt clip is a small fastener attached to the back of an object—a phone case, pager, multitool, or holster—allowing it to hook onto a belt or waistband for hands-free carrying.
Belt clips were ubiquitous in the 1990s and 2000s for cell phones and pagers but have fallen out of fashion as phones grew larger and pockets became the norm.
