time release
Slow dose delivery
Time release describes a mechanism that delivers something gradually over an extended period rather than all at once.
Most commonly applied to medications designed to dissolve slowly in the body: time-release capsules, time-release vitamins.
The concept extends to other controlled-delivery systems: time-release fertilizer.
Also written as time-release or timed-release.
