autistics
Neurologically different people
Autistics is a noun referring to people who have autism, used especially within the autism community itself.
Many autistic people prefer this term to "people with autism," viewing autism as an identity rather than a condition they carry: Autistics have been advocating for themselves long before awareness campaigns.
The word functions as both plural noun and adjective.
