atomic weight
Element's average mass
Atomic weight is the average mass of an atom of an element, measured relative to carbon-12.
It accounts for the natural abundance of an element's isotopes, which is why atomic weights are rarely whole numbers.
The atomic weight of chlorine is about 35.5.
Also called relative atomic mass.
